A former ally of Rwandan President Paul Kagame has said that he was offered a whopping $1 million to kill Gen Kayumba Nyamwasa who has so far survived four assassination attempts.

Maj Robert Higiro, in a video that has emerged on social media, says that through Rwanda’s joint chief of Intelligence – Brig. Gen Dan Munyuza, Kagame offered the cash but promised the cash on completion of the ‘mission’.

Higiro who was part of the forces that brought president Kagame to power says Kagame has betrayed his comrades most of whom have been killed, jailed or in exile.

Maj Higiro gives an example of Gen Kayumba Nyamwasa who is exiled in South Africa, Col Patrick Karegyeya who was assassinated in South Africa by strangulation.

He also cited Gen Tom Byabagamba who spent all his time in the military protecting Kagame and Gen Frank Rusagara who was jailed after his service on a mission in America.
