It is a season of joy and celebration within the Busoga Royal Family and the Obwa Kyabazinga Bwa Busoga at large, as the much-loved monarch, His Majesty William Gabula Nadiope IV, graduates once again—this time with a second Master’s degree.

The Kyabazinga has earned a Master of Advanced Studies in Global Affairs from the prestigious Jackson School of Global Affairs at Yale University.

Thousands of his loyal subjects and fans across Uganda took to social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter), WhatsApp, and Instagram to jubilantly celebrate and congratulate their King on this remarkable academic achievement.

His Majesty, a passionate advocate for education, continues to inspire his subjects and young Ugandans by leading through example in the pursuit of knowledge—regardless of his royal status. This time, he has done so on a global stage at one of the most revered Ivy League universities.

It should be remembered that the Isebantu Kyabazinga already holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Management from Coventry University in the United Kingdom, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Kyambogo University in Uganda.

According to palace sources, the King is also currently in his third year of a Doctorate of Business Administration (Strategic Management) at the University of Portsmouth, UK.

By graduating from Yale, the King joins the ranks of globally renowned leaders such as Nelson Mandela, former U.S. Presidents Bill Clinton, George H. W. Bush, George W. Bush, and current U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance, among others, who have studied at this top-tier institution, consistently ranked among the top five in the United States and top ten globally.

The King’s admission into the program came through a merit-based, full-board scholarship awarded by Yale University in recognition of his potential and stature.

His Majesty William Gabula Nadiope IV continues to distinguish himself as a beacon of cultural leadership, using his position to unite, inspire, and galvanize his subjects to actively support the Government of Uganda in the socio-economic transformation of the region. He firmly believes that education and the pursuit of knowledge are essential qualities for any strategic leader.

The King draws inspiration from his parents—his mother, Josephine Mpata Nadiope, was a water and environmental engineer who graduated from the University of Florida, USA, and his father, Prof. Arnold Wilson Nadiope III, attained his Doctorate from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. With such a legacy, His Majesty remains determined to pursue education to its highest level.

According to the Minister for Kyabazinga Affairs, Owek Babirye Yudaya, and Prince Wanume Paul, a lecturer at the Uganda Management Institute (UMI), this particular degree is especially significant and timely. It places the King in a strong position to contribute meaningfully to development efforts and to address global health challenges such as malaria—where he serves as the National Champion against Malaria, teenage pregnancies—in his role as the UNAIDS National Goodwill Ambassador, and hydrocephalus, among others.

The professors at the Jackson School of Global Affairs highly commended the King for completing the rigorous program in record time and with distinction, all while balancing his royal responsibilities.

His Majesty was accompanied at the graduation ceremony by his beloved wife, Queen Inhebantu Jovia Mutesi Nadiope, who has been a constant pillar of support during their time in the United States.

Also in attendance were members of the Royal Family, the Katuukiro (Prime Minister) of Busoga Kingdom, Owek Dr. Joseph Muvawala, the Hereditary Chief of Butembe, Prince Walugembe Frederick, the State Minister for Finance (Busoga Kingdom), Ivan Kiirya, and other dignitaries.
