Jilted Lover Murders Ex-Partner and Husband in Nakasongola

The Nakasongola District Police are currently investigating a case of murder involving two people in Posta Zone, Central Ward of Migeera Town Council.

The incident took place on May 2nd, 2024, at around 8:21 PM at the residence of the victims.The deceased have been identified as 44-year-old Nangobi Hadiija, a Musoga by tribe and resident of the area, and 40-year-old Vincent, also a resident of the same address.

According to ASP TwiineAmazima Sam, preliminary reports suggest that the suspect, identified as 45-year-old Owoyesiga Tarasis, and resident of Nalukonge Zone, Central Ward in Migeera Town Council, was formerly in a relationship with Nangobi Hadiija. Their relationship soured earlier this year, prompting Nangobi to end the relationship and subsequently begin a new one with Vincent, her current husband.

According to eyewitness accounts, the suspect entered the victims’ home while they were preparing supper and attacked them with a machete. The brutal act was witnessed by Nangobi’s 12-year-old daughter, who immediately reported the incident to Ibrahim Lukandwa, a local resident. Ibrahim promptly alerted the police who responded swiftly.

ASP TwiineAmazima says Scene of Crime Officers (SOCO) and the Homicide Squad from Nakasongola were dispatched to document the scene and gather pertinent evidence. Statements from witnesses were recorded to aid in the investigation process.

The bodies of the deceased were transferred to Nakasongola Health Center IV for postmortem examination, as the suspect remains at large. The police continue to pursue leads in an effort to apprehend Owoyesiga Tarasis and bring him to justice.

The investigation remains ongoing, and police have urged anyone with relevant information to come forward and assist in apprehending the suspect.
