IGP Vows to Arrest Criminals Who Attacked And Killed Officers At Busika Police

He explains that the assailants attacked from three different places at the front and back before stealing two guns and setting the station ablaze.

The Inspector General of Police IGP Martin Okoth Ochola has  condemned  an attack on Busiika Police Station, in Busika Town Council , Luwero district that left two police officers dead and others injured.

The incident happened on October 31 at 7:30 pm when a group of seven unknown assailants armed with a pistol and guns stormed the police station and shot at its officers on duty.

Fred Enanga, the Uganda Police Spokesperson has named the deceased as D/IP Wagaluka Alex, the in-charge CID and PC Ongol Moses, both attached to Busiika Police station.

The injured including Police Constable Ochom Adrian and  Odama Stephen remain admitted at Bombo Military General Hospital in critical condition.

“They also burnt several case files and attempted to burn the station. The fire was however, successfully put off by the community at Busiika Town Council. We do applaud the efforts of all persons who responded and saved the police station. says Enanga

In the statement released on Tuesday, the lGP has condoled with the   family, friends, relatives and workmates of the deceased. He says a hunt has been launched for the assailants and they will be arrested.

He has also reiterated that there is no justification, whatsoever, for the attack and such acts of violence against police officers, on duty.
