Ugandan music icon Joseph Mayanja aka Jose Chameleon has opened up about a recent health scare, revealing that he was “really losing” his sight before undergoing eye surgery in Kampala.

In a heartfelt statement shared with his followers, Chameleon expressed gratitude to God and the medical team that handled his procedure. “I thank you Lord for another great morning!! I thank Dr Ludovica Tindebwa and the entire Kampala Eye Lasik Hospital team for my eye surgery and your hospitality. I was rapidly losing my sight on my right eye. I seek your healing as always my Lord.”

The singer, born Joseph Mayanja, underwent the procedure at Eye Lasik Hospital, where he credited Dr. Ludovica Tindebwa and the medical staff for their care and professionalism.

Chameleon’s revelation has sparked concern and support among fans, many of whom flooded his social media pages with prayers and well-wishes for a full recovery. The artist has previously battled health complications, including acute pancreatitis, for which he sought specialised treatment in the United States before returning to Uganda in April 2025. His latest update signals optimism and renewed faith as he continues his recovery journey.
