Senior Presidential Advisor and Head of the State House Diaspora Unit, Mohammed Bagonza, together with Hon. Balaam Barugahara, Minister of State for Youth, and Hon. Milly Babalanda, Minister for the Presidency, inspected exhibition stalls at the ongoing Uganda–UAE Convention at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, Dubai.
One of the companies showcasing innovative solutions is Jericho Civil Engineering & Consultants Ltd, owned by Ugandan entrepreneur B.P. Buyondo Herbert. Jericho is promoting affordable housing through Hydraform technology, which uses local materials—soil, sand, and cement—to produce interlocking blocks that do not require burning. This approach significantly reduces construction costs while protecting the environment.
The company is also supporting Ugandans in the diaspora to invest back home with ease by offering affordable, sustainable construction options tailored to their needs. Affordable housing initiatives such as these have the potential to increase the national housing stock, enhance living.
