She called upon the graduates to carry their titles with honor, emphasizing the importance of serving humanity with dignity and adhering to the unwavering professional ethics that define nurses and midwives.
She stressed that these graduates have the full backing of the government, including the recent salary enhancements for healthcare workers, and encouraged them to further their studies to become even more effective in their service to the nation.
Christine Nimwesigwa, the Registrar of the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council, stressed the importance of being registered and licensed with the council for effective practice.
She clarified that registration is a prerequisite for effective practice across the country, underlining that unregistered practitioners would not be recognized. Nimwesigwa also urged the graduates to carry themselves with respect and dignity in their interactions with the people they would serve.
Dr. Safina Kisu Musene, the Commissioner of Business, Technical, Vocational Education, and Training, assured that the government would allocate more staff to the school and cautioned graduates against leading reckless lifestyles in their duties.
