Butambala Ssaza has announced Hassan Mubiru as their new head coach for the upcoming 2025 Masaza Cup season. Mubiru, a seasoned tactician with a CAF “C” license, brings a wealth of coaching experience to the team.

He previously served as head coach of Mawokota and Butambala, guiding the team to two Masaza Cup semifinals in 2007 and helping Butambala reach the 2006 semis and 2007 quarterfinals.

New Challenge

Mubiru replaces Mustafah Kayinda, who led the team during the 2024 edition of the prestigious Buganda Kingdom competition.

Butambala, who have never won the Masaza Cup title, are grouped in Muganzirwazza alongside Kyaggwe, Ssingo, Kkooki, and Mawogola. They kick off their campaign against Mawogola at Mawogola Ssaza ground.

Masaza Cup Opener

The highly anticipated Masaza Cup opener will feature record winners Gomba against reigning champions Buddu on June 21st, 2025, at the Kitovu Sports Arena in Masaka.
