Gen Muhoozi Tours Ongoing SFC Works on Kampala Potholes
Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the Senior Presidential Advisor for Special Operations toured Kampala to inspect the ongoing road repairs carried out by the Special Forces Command (SFC). He was joined by KCCA Executive Director Dorothy Kisaka and a team of KCCA and SFC engineers.
The SFC construction regiment has been working together with the KCCA to fix the potholes in the city’s roads. Gen Kainerugaba and the team toured several sites, starting in down town, Kiyembe lane that connects Nakasero market to the old taxi park, Rashid Khamis Road and concluded the tour at in Kololo.
Despite the General’s unannounced tour, crowds of excited people gathered on the streets and arcade verandas of their shops to catch a glimpse of Gen Kainerugaba. They waved at him with smiles as he walked by.
Gen Kainerugaba’s inspection of the city’s roads follows an earlier meeting with KCCA’s ED where they both toured the potholes in several parts of industrial area in Kampala.
As a result of his intervention, President Yoweri Museveni directed Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja to coordinate with relevant government agencies to allow KCCA to collaborate directly with the SFC Construction Regiment for the pothole repairs.
Since Gen Kainerugaba’s visit in May, several roads, including those in the industrial area and Sir Apollo Kaggwa Road, have been rehabilitated, resulting in improved traffic flow.
