Gen Muhoozi Roots for Partnership with Corporates

The Chief Of Defence Forces (CDF) Gen David Muhoozi yesterday hosted corporates, Acholi subregion political leaders and UPDF Generals to a luncheon at the Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs headquarters in Mbuya.

The luncheon was to appreciate the work and support that distinguished 2019 Tarehe Sita as the best organized and supported.

The permanent secretary Mrs Rosette Byengoma who represented the Minister of Minister Defence and Veterans Affairs thanked the CDF for thinking of appreciating all those that worked during the organization of Tarehe Sita.

She further thanked the defence organising committee for a very successful and colorful event.

She particularly singled out the Engineers Brigade for delivering the projects that were promised to the people of the region.

The Permanent Secretary mobilized the guests for next years’ Tarehe Sita celebrations and called upon the members to participate even more.

In his remarks, the CDF General David Muhoozi informed the guests that UPDF needs partners from the population and the corporate world and therefore the luncheon was organized to thank everyone, more so the organizing committee.

He lauded the great role played by individuals such as Hon Beatrice Anywar the MP Kitgum Municipality and Hon Makmot from Agago District who also attended the function.

“You did us proud and supported a right cause making it a colorful event that met its desired purpose,” said Gen Muhoozi.

He promised to make it better in the coming Tarehe Sita and informed the gathering that there is a need for early engagements with stakeholders and all those that would wish to be part especially the corporate world.

Dr Silver Mugisha the MD National Water & Sewerage Corporation thanked the UPDF for the spirit of partnership and pro-people character. He pledged the corporates readiness to support UPDF whenever they are called upon.

Present at the luncheon were Hon Gen Ivan Koreta, Joint Chief of Staff Lt Gen Joseph Musanyufu, representatives from Stanbic Bank, Motal Engil Africa, Global Paints Ltd, Vivo Energy Uganda, Toyota Uganda, Sadolin Paint, among others.
