Gen Kyanda Graces Motor Cross Event at Busiika

Maj Gen Leopold Kyanda the Chief of Staff Land Forces accompanied by Senior UPDF officers flagged off the Motor Cross event at Busiika a renowned motor cross race ground that has attracted world competitors.

The Gen who represented the Chief of Defence Forces Gen David Muhoozi at the event flagged off the glamorous event at the pompous venue attended by several of celebrities and Kampala socialites.

In his remarks Gen Kyanda appreciated the organisers of the race and announced that it is one of the civil military activities that will lead to a world race and a cocktail of events being organised to take place in October 2019 where UPDF will be the main topic as the country and the world in general celebrate the role UPDF in maintaining regional and international peace. The corporate world has decided to give back to Ugandans partnering with UPDF.

He expressed his gratitude to the organisers for developing the talents of the young blood. “Uganda is a youthful country whose potential should be tapped into by any focused investor to move the country to even greater heights, you can see how talented Ugandans can be. The things we used to admire from somewhere else are right now before our eyes, Gen Kyanda noted.

The event that coincided with Easter Sunday celebration attracted hundreds of revelers and celebrities across the country. Maj Gen Leopold Kyanda was accompanied by the Director Strategic Communications and Defence Engagements Col Paddy Ankunda, the Deputy Defence Spokesperson Lt Col Deo Akiiki, Mr Barack an Israel expatriate whose family has been prominent in the race among others.
