The Minister for Works and Transport, General Edward Katumba Wamala, has received an honorary Doctor of Letters degree from Nkumba University. This recognition is in acknowledgment of his exceptional contributions to the community.

General Katumba was presented with this honor during Nkumba University’s 25th graduation ceremony, which took place at the main campus in Wakiso district.

During the ceremony, he was formally introduced to the chancellor for the conferment of the Doctor of Letters degree, recognizing his substantial contributions to the university.

“I am deeply honored to receive this award and genuinely appreciate the recognition and trust that the university has placed in my work and contributions,” expressed General Katumba Wamala in response to being bestowed with this title.

The university senate, during its 107th session this month, proposed and recommended General Katumba’s name for the Doctor of Letters award. His acceptance of this distinction entitles him to all the honors and privileges of a Nkumba University graduate.

A total of 1,856 students from various programs graduated from the university, including Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja, who earned a Master of Arts in Monitoring and Evaluation.
