The Chief of Defence Forces, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, today held talks with Lt. Gen. Issa Saif Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces, to enhance military cooperation between Uganda and the United Arab Emirates.

General Kainerugaba welcomed his counterpart at Entebbe International Airport before accompanying him to the Special Forces Command headquarters for discussions.

The meeting was attended by senior Ugandan military officials, including Lt. Gen. Kayanja Muhanga, Commander of Land Forces; Lt. Gen. Jack Bakasumba, Chief of Joint Staff; and Maj. Gen. David Mugisha, Commander of the SFC among other UPDF Generals and senior officers.

The UAE delegation included high-ranking military officers.

During the talks, Gen. Kainerugaba highlighted the strengthening defense partnership between the two countries and noted that a forthcoming military Memorandum of Understanding would further solidify bilateral relations. A presentation on existing cooperation underscored shared interests in regional peace and security.

Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to a common vision of stability in their respective regions, signaling deeper collaboration in the future.
