Gen Francis Okello Hails Kenya Defence College’s Visit as Vote Of Confidence

The Commandant National Defence College – Uganda (NDC-U), Maj. Gen. Francis Okello underscored the importance of the visit from the National Defence College – Kenya (NDC-K) as a vote of confidence and recognition in the NDC-U.

“As a young institution, we are energized by this visit and cooperation and we look forward to more engagements,” said Maj Gen Okello.

A delegation of 19 course members and staff from the National Defence College – Kenya (NDC-K) paid a courtesy visit to the National Defence College – Uganda (NDC-U) at Njeru Buikwe district.

He informed the visiting delegation that, NDC-U currently runs two courses: an NDC Certificate and a Masters’ Degree program in partnership with Makerere University and is in the process of progressing into a National Defence University.

The head of the delegation and Senior Directing Staff-Army at NDC-K, Maj. Gen. Steven James Mutuku said they are in Uganda on a week-long study tour.

Present were the NDC-U College Secretary Brig. Gen. David Tweheyo, Kenya Defence Attaché to Uganda Col. Patrick Nkududa, NDC-U College Coordinator Col. John Siyareta, Director of Studies NDC-U Prof. Mulindwa Rutanga and Staff Officers from NDC-U.
