Four Vendors Die Instantly in Gulu Accident

Four vendors have died and thirty-two others critically injured in the Monday night accident in Gulu City.

Among the deceased as Odoch Awach, Controller, Robert, and John.

The accident happened when a Canter Vehicle Registration number UBF 743B they were traveling on board lost control and overturned on Walter Opwonya Road in Bardege-Layibi division at around 9:30 pm.

The vendors were returning from a mobile market in Lutuk Market in Koch Goma in Nwoya district.

The vehicle was transporting over forty vendors together with their merchandise by a man only identified as Anelka.

The injured persons are admitted to different health facilities in Gulu City including Gulu Regional Referral Hospital and St Mary`s Hospital Lacor.

Magambe Penninah, the Aswa River Region Traffic Officer decried the rampant road accidents in the region, which she blamed on reckless drivers and riders due to the absence of police checkpoints.
