Joseph Bossa, the former Uganda People’s Congress-UPC party vice President is dead.

A message by the Judiciary Spokesperson, Solomon Muyita indicates that Bossa, who is also the husband to the International Criminal Court- ICC Judge, Salome Balungi Bossa breathed his last in The Hague, Netherlands.

“We regret to announce the sudden passing of Mr. Joseph Bossa, the husband to the Hon. Lady Justice Solome Balungi Bossa of the International Criminal Court, which occurred in The Hague,  Netherlands”, reads Muyita’s message on WhatsApp.

According to Muyita, the funeral arrangements will be communicated in due course.

In April, 2019, the UPC party leadership under Jimmy Akena ejected the deceased on grounds that he was holding out as the Party President and instituting a suit against Orient Bank in the name of UPC without authorization by the party Cabinet.

Bossa assumed the UPC party presidency when Dr Olara Otunnu bowed out on May 26th, 2016 to pave way for elections, which led to a protracted court battle. This saw the party splitting in two rival factions allied to Akena and Bossa.
