Patrick Amuriat Oboi, President of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), Najjanankumbi faction, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to His Royal Majesty Ssabasajja Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II on the significant milestone of 31 years on the throne of the Kingdom of Buganda.
In an official statement released on Wednesday, the FDC Party joined the people of Buganda in commemorating this special day, currently being celebrated at a ceremony at St. Paul’s Cathedral, Namirembe.
“We express our heartfelt gratitude to God for the Kabaka’s life and leadership, which have epitomized civility, unity, and the preservation of Buganda’s rich heritage. The Kingdom’s restoration is a testament to the unwavering perseverance of the people of Buganda.” he said
Amuriat stated that throughout his reign, Kabaka Mutebi II has played a major role in shaping the Kingdom’s and the country’s history, through political, social, and economic growth. He further explained that the Kabaka has unified the people of Buganda across political and religious divides, serving as a voice for the voiceless and downtrodden.
He also called for unanimous prayers for the Kabaka’s current health condition, for his good health and guidance as he continues to lead the Kingdom.
“May God bless and guide him as he leads the people of Buganda. Yooga Yooga Ssabasajja Kabaka. Wangala nga olamula Obuganda,” Amuriat concluded.
