Uganda is home to a total of 10 national parks, and each park offers its own unique wildlife and landscape experiences.These national game parks in Uganda offer visitors a unique opportunity to experience the country’s diverse wildlife and stunning landscapes. Whether you’re interested in gorilla trekking, game drives, birdwatching, Mountain climbing or chimpanzee tracking Uganda’s national parks have something to offer to everyone with diverse experiences. They showcase ecosystems and abundant wildlife that Uganda has to offer, making them popular destinations for nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts.
Below, we explore what each national park has to offer:
1. Murchison Falls National Park (Kabalega National Park)
Located in the northwest part of Uganda, Murchison Falls National Park is the largest national park in Uganda. It is known for its spectacular Murchison Falls, where the Nile River is forced through a narrow gorge before plunging 43 metres into the Victoria Nile. The park is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, lions, and hippos. Visitors can enjoy game drives, boat safaris, and hiking to the top of Murchison Falls.
2. Queen Elizabeth National Park
Situated in the southwest part of Uganda, Queen Elizabeth National Park is known for its diverse ecosystems, including savannah, forests, and wetlands. The park is home to a large population of hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species. 3. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Located in southwestern Uganda, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is famous for its population of mountain gorillas. It is one of the best places in the world to go gorilla trekking, allowing visitors to have a close encounter with these endangered primates. 4. Kidepo Valley National Park
Situated in the remote northeast corner of Uganda, Kidepo Valley National Park is known for its rugged landscapes and abundant wildlife. 5. Lake Mburo National Park
