The Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) has reported a significant increase in passenger traffic at Entebbe International Airport for October 2024, with a total of 183,728 international passengers recorded.

According to Vianney M. Luggya, the UCAA Spokesperson, the month saw 90,762 arrivals and 92,966 departures. This marks an average of 5,926 passengers handled daily, showing growth compared to October 2023, which averaged 5,545 passengers per day.

“Although October’s daily average increased compared to the same period last year, it was slightly lower than September 2024, which recorded an average of 6,290 passengers per day,” Luggya noted.

In addition to passenger traffic, Entebbe International Airport facilitated the movement of 5,825 metric tons of cargo during October 2024. This included 1,798 metric tons of imports and 4,027 metric tons of exports, highlighting the airport’s pivotal role in supporting Uganda’s trade and commerce.

The consistent increase in passenger numbers and cargo operations reflects the growing demand for air travel and trade services at Entebbe International Airport, reaffirming its importance as a regional hub.

The Uganda Civil Aviation Authority continues to implement measures aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and improving traveler experiences as part of its efforts to sustain this upward trajectory.
