In a groundbreaking initiative, Elevate Her Uganda (EHU) is revolutionizing the lives of women in Uganda, fostering self-empowerment and community transformation. The organization’s tireless efforts were on full display during a recent radio talk show at Voice of Ruhinda in Kashenshero, where the Executive Director Mrs. Natukunda Loice Otafiire urged women to unite and make a collective impact.
The EHU’s Mitooma Women Empowerment Project (MWEP) has been a resounding success, with the recent donation of 20,000 chicks to women’s groups in kashenshero sub county making a total of 60,000 chicks which were first distributed in the first round . This gesture has not only empowered women economically but has also sent a powerful message about the importance of female self-sufficiency.
As Mrs. Otafiire emphasized, “A woman with power, a woman who is self-empowered, is a role model to society.” EHU’s initiatives are designed to unlock this potential, providing women with the tools and resources needed to drive positive change in their communities.

The organization’s impact will be further amplified with its official launch on April 5, 2025, at Ruhinda Senior Secondary School in Mitooma. This milestone event marks the beginning of a new chapter in EHU’s journey, as it continues to work towards a sustainable future for women in Uganda.
Through its holistic approach, EHU is addressing the complex challenges faced by women in Uganda, from economic empowerment to social and emotional well-being. By elevating women, EHU is, in turn, elevating entire communities, fostering a brighter, more equitable future for all.
As the organization’s slogan aptly puts it, “The future is female,” and with ‘Elevate Her Uganda’ leading the charge, this future is looking increasingly bright.
