The Electoral Commission has nominated Sarah Aguti Nyangkori, the Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) Dokolo Woman Member of Parliament candidate, for the upcoming by-election.

Sarah Aguti Nyangkori, accompanied by UPC President Jimmy Akena and the Congress fraternity, presented herself for nomination at the EC offices in Dokolo.

Akena expressed his commitment to rebuilding the Party through grassroots mobilisation, citing the support of the entire UPC, as demonstrated in the Oyam North by-election. Sarah Aguti Nyangkori emerged as the official Party flag bearer for the Dokolo Woman MP seat after Comrades Josephine Acen Okullu and Anna Okwir stepped down in her favor during the UPC District Conference held on 19th February 2024 at Dokolo Catholic Parish.

Simultaneously, the EC nominated Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) candidate Dr. Rosemary Alwoc Ogwal, daughter of the late Cecilia Barbara Atim Agwal, the incumbent. Additionally, the National Unity Platform (NUP) candidate, Ageno Harriet, was also fully nominated.
