The Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) is dedicated to assisting children in attaining education.
Kenzo made his contribution during a charity football match named the “Celebrity Charity Game,” hosted by The Football Nations Corporate League at the Mtn Omondi Stadium in Lugogo, Kampala city, on Sunday, April 14, 2024.
The match pitted Team Martin Mateja against Team Eddy Kenzo.
Expressing his motivation, Kenzo emphasized that giving back to the less fortunate is his way of glorifying God by sharing the modest success he has achieved over the years.
“Giving back is my calling; I’m simply magnifying God’s glory. I serve God by showing love to people. Sharing what I have with others, particularly innocent children, brings me great joy,” Kenzo remarked.
The 34-year-old Grammy nominee highlighted the significance of sharing, drawing from his own experiences of deprivation.
“Having gone through tough times, I find hope in sharing what little I have. It’s immensely fulfilling to utilize my resources to bring smiles to others’ faces,” Kenzo added.
During the charity match, numerous individuals, companies, and organizations contributed various items, including cash donations (Zabri Sports gave USD 200, around Ugx 780,000, Audio Beam Events contributed Ugx 200,000, Auto Mobile Association of Uganda Ugx 200,000, Ka cyber technologies Ugx 300,000, and Kagwerawo bet.simple, the match sponsor, donated approximately Ugx 800,000), liquid soap, toiletries, clothes, and mineral water.
Blossoms for Hope Foundation, established by youths, commenced its operations on a small scale in 2017, eventually achieving full registration with the NGO bureau in 2023. The NGO focuses on women’s rights, charitable initiatives, and skill development, empowering children to become self-sufficient.
