Driver, Two Others Perish After YY Coaches Bus Overturns

Police has confirmed that three people, including the dirver of YY coaches bus have perished in an accident that occurred on Wednesday evening.
The dead have been identified as the driver Muhamad Ntege, a resident of Namakwekwe in Mbale city and two other male juveniles yet to be identified. One other person is nursing injuries.
The accident happened at a place called Kadama, Salla village on Tirinyi road, at about 7:30 pm when the bus registration number UBG 400C,overturned while travelling from Kampala to Mbale.

 

It is alleged that the driver who was overspending lost control and veered off the road causing the car to overturn several times.

According to the Bukedi North Police Spokesperson Immaculate Alaso they are investigating the cause of the accident and more details will be availed in due course.

“Preliminary information indicates that the driver of the above-mentioned bus which was from Kampala heading to Mbale lost control and went off the road, overturned, killing the three on the spot and injuring several others,” a statement from police reads in part.
