DP to Hold Delegates’ Conference in August
The Democratic Party is scheduled to convene its delegates’ conference in August 2024, as disclosed by the party’s Secretary General, Gerald Siranda. Preceding the conference, village council elections are set to commence in March of this year.
Siranda has announced that the National Executive Committee meeting of the party will take place on February 25, 2024, to deliberate on the planned activities.
He encourages all members aspiring to contest for elective positions within the party structures to come forward. However, those aiming for member of parliament positions are prohibited from competing for the party presidency.
Siranda has issued a caution against internal discord within the party, emphasizing that splinter groups will not accomplish significant results. “Let us all collaborate harmoniously within the party,” he emphasized.
