Discipline is the Prerequisite for Battle Success – SFC Boss Tells Soldiers
The Commander Special Forces Command Maj Gen James Birungi has hailed the Uganda People’s’ Defence Forces (UPDF )/ National Resistance Army ( NRA ) for the discipline which has born positive fruits demonstrated both in Uganda and outside.
Maj Gen Birungi made the remarks while representing the Commander Air Force Lt Gen Charles Lutaya at Tarehe Sita Celebrations for Air Force and Special Forces Command at Air Force Headquarters Entebbe.
The national celebrations were held in Nakaseke district in the Luwero triangle last week.
Gen James Birungi applauded the Commander in Chief of the UPDF, HE the president Gen YK Museveni and other patriotic gallant soldiers living and dead for having initiated a good heroic vision and struggle that brought the current government in power.
He said that the patriotism and discipline of the NRA/UPDF and NRM was and still is the prerequisite to the winning all battles UPDF has fought.
Gen Birungi congratulated the UPDF fraternity upon this anniversary and also applauded the UPDF strategic leadership and guidance led by the Chief of Defence Forces.
The commander SFC further applauded the good working relationships and support by the civilians whom he called the Masters to UPDF noting that without the civilians UPDF has no base.
UPDF Spouses Hailed
Gen Birungi hailed the UPDF spouses for the great job they do in supporting their husbands and keeping homes during their absence. He pledged that the army shall also commit to providing for them everything possible and within their means.
The Deputy Commander Air Force Brig Tumusiime Katsigazi while flagging off the route match congratulated the UPDF family upon marking the 39th Anniversary, citing that the decision made on 06th Feb 1981 was the origin to fight poor governance that had made Uganda a failed state.
He said celebrations should not be just celebrations but must help the current army and all citizens to reflect where Uganda has come from where it is and where it is going.
“Always have in mind that the peace we have, the development, the security are products of those heroes who shed their blood,” emphasised Brig Katsigazi.
