Deputy RCC Rubaga Division Steps Down Amid Allegations

In a period of five years and five months of dedicated public service, Anderson Herbert Burora formally handed over the office of Deputy Resident Commissioner of Rubaga Division.

“I have handed over the Office of the Deputy Resident City Commissioner in Rubaga Division,” announced Burora.

Emphasizing the importance of service over personal gain, Burora explained his decision to prioritize his conscience over the allure of his role.

“This is not merely about the office or the job, as Madam Anita assumed. It is about the service,” he reiterated, underscoring his commitment to public duty.

Reflecting on his tenure, Burora acknowledged that while he may not have pleased everyone during his time in office, he remained resolute in fulfilling his responsibilities.

“While there may have been individuals whom I did not satisfy for various reasons, I can confidently say that I served according to my mandate,” he said.

Despite the challenges and uncertainties, Burora expressed confidence in his representation of the President.

“I may not be able to quantify my legacy as the President’s representative, but I can confidently say that I faithfully represented him to the best of my abilities every single day,” he said.

Burora has announced plans for a press conference on Thursday, March 21, during which he intends to provide further insights into his decision and elaborate on his future endeavors.

His departure marks the end of an era for Rubaga Division, as residents bid farewell to a dedicated public servant who prioritized integrity and service above all else.

Last week, Burora was suspended from his office.

The suspension follows a series of allegations against Burora that have subjected his actions to scrutiny in recent weeks.

Authorities have not disclosed further details regarding the allegations or the duration of the suspension.

Sources within the presidency have confirmed that Burora has been dismissed from his position.

Burora’s reported offense relates to a complaint filed by the Office of the Speaker of Parliament, accusing him of being “disoriented.”

Specifically, the Speaker alleges that Burora used Twitter to undermine government officials and programs, thereby failing to fulfill his duty of supporting the government.

The exact duration of Burora’s suspension remains unclear, but it appears to be the initial step in disciplinary proceedings against him.
