Daughters Connive to Beat Own Mother to Death Over Land

Four people have been apprehended by police in Luwero District for their suspected involvement in the death of their 89-year-old mother.

The incident occurred on Friday in Bbaale-Kamuzingiza village, Nnyimbwa Sub-County.

The suspects have been identified as Grace Nafuna and Lovinsa Naiga, who are daughters of the deceased, along with Grace Namutebi and Lydia Nazziwa, who are granddaughters of the deceased. All individuals reside in Kamuzingiza village in Nyimbwa sub-county.

According to Sam Twiineamazima, the Savannah Regional Police Spokesperson, the victim has been identified as Nalujja Yowanina. Investigations have revealed that the assault took place around 4 pm when the suspects allegedly attacked their mother, demanding money following a land sale. The specific amount of money involved and the size of the land in question are yet to be determined.

The victim was rushed to John’s clinic in Bbowa but was pronounced dead at 5 pm.

Twiineamazima stated, “Preliminary information indicates…” that further details are being gathered as part of the investigation, including the nature of the assault and motives behind the attack.

The suspects have been transferred to Bombo Police Station to provide statements and undergo prosecution. Additionally, the deceased’s body has been moved to Mulago hospital for a postmortem examination.

The police are continuing their inquiries into this tragic incident.
