Uganda police have disclosed that suspected members of the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) group attacked and killed two foreign tourists and a Ugandan national at Queen Elizabeth National Park.

The assailants also set fire to a Land Cruiser registered as UBF 303C, which belonged to Wild Gorilla Safaris. The victims were ambushed along Katwe Road, specifically between Lake Nyamununka and Kabatooro, within the Kasese district.

According to officials from the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA), the identities of the deceased are being withheld for now. However, it has been revealed that the victims include a Ugandan, a UK citizen, and a South African citizen.

Fred Enanga, the Police Spokesperson, confirmed this tragic incident through a tweet on the official police handle, stating,

“We have recorded a cowardly terrorist attack on two foreign tourists and a Ugandan in Queen Elizabeth National Park. The three lost their lives, and their safari vehicle was set ablaze. Our combined security forces promptly responded upon receiving the information and are actively pursuing the suspected ADF rebels. We extend our deepest condolences to the families of the victims.”
