The finance ministry has released sh206b to cater for the provision of oxygen and Intensive Care Units among other logistics and infrastructure in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
The money is part of the Quota One release for the financial year 2021/22.
The Government has also released sh32.3b to cater for allowances of nurses and midwives in the first quota of the 2021/22 financial year.
The Finance ministry tweeted that ‘The release for Q1 has catered for requirement to increase Nurses and Midwives lunch allowances ( Ushs 32.3 billion) and operationalisation of cancer reference laboratory (Ushs 7.3 billion).
This comes at a time when Uganda is battling the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic.
The Money will aid the health sector fight against Covid-19 and other health challenges.
