Community Mobilizes After Buganda Clan Leader Shooting
Police have officially confirmed the tragic demise of Daniel Bbosa, the esteemed head of the Buganda clan, who was fatally shot upon his return home on Sunday evening.
As detailed by Luke Owoyesigyire, the deputy police spokesperson of Kampala Metropolitan, Bbosa, who also served as the director of Transa Electrical, fell victim to a fatal shooting as he approached his residence around 6 p.m. in Kikandwa Zone, Lungujja Parish, Lubaga Division.
“The perpetrators, riding on a motorcycle, indiscriminately fired upon Mr. Bbosa’s vehicle, identified by registration number UAH 637X, resulting in his immediate demise,” Owoyesigyire stated.
He continued, “Amidst this abhorrent act, a courageous local resident intervened, disrupting the assailants’ escape by knocking down their motorcycle and promptly alerting the community. Subsequently, community members rallied, leading to a confrontation with the assailants. Vigilante justice ensued, resulting in the demise of one assailant at the scene, while the other remains in critical condition.”
While the motive behind this appalling act remains unclear, Owoyesigyire assured that investigations are actively underway to apprehend the remaining assailants.
“Furthermore, we have recovered the firearm purportedly utilized in the homicide, alongside the motorcycle bearing registration number UEX 754E, utilized by the assailants during the assault. These findings will serve as crucial evidence in our ongoing investigative efforts.”
