UBOS Conducts Census in Prisons

Commissioner General Byabashaija Supports exercise

At least a total number of 397 enumerators and 125 supervisors from Uganda Prisons are conducting the census exercise within prison units and all uniformed as prison officers.

On Friday in Kampala at Luzira Hill, the category have been nominated by the commissioner general of Uganda prisons, Dr. Johnson Omuhunde Rwashote Byabashaija, trained and equipped by the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS).

The exercise, Is being carried out in 269 prisons , grouped in 19 regions to cover the prisoners, staffs and their families. “The 397 enumerators are using virtual technology to collect data efficiently and accurately,” said the Prison Spokesperson Mr. Frank Baine.

Baine, while giving his final briefs to the enumerators and supervisors at Luzira urged them to exhibit the highest level of professionalism as they execute the activity.
