In a significant move towards safeguarding the well-being of the populace, the National Drug Authority (NDA) and the Buganda Kingdom have forged a unique collaboration.

Under this momentous partnership, His Majesty Kabaka Ronald Mutebi II has graciously assumed the role of a staunch advocate for safe drug usage in the Buganda Kingdom and across Uganda.

The Kabaka’s influential voice will play a pivotal role in the battle against the escalating issue of drug and substance abuse, a pressing concern that detrimentally affects the productivity of numerous Ugandans and poses a severe public health challenge.

The NDA is committed to closely collaborating with the Kingdom, with a focus on enhancing the quality of herbal medicines in Buganda.

This effort will involve working in tandem with the Kingdom’s Ministers and Chiefs to provide training for herbalists, facilitating their access to contemporary good manufacturing practices. Moreover, the NDA will offer support to herbal drug manufacturers and dealers in the process of getting their approved products onto the market, thereby enriching their knowledge and elevating the quality of their offerings. This joint initiative marks a critical step forward in fortifying public health and wellbeing in the region.
