Brutal Attacks in Bulenga: One Woman Murdered, Another Left for Dead

Police in Bulenga, Wakiso are investigating two separate incidents involving murder and attempted murder that occurred overnight.

The incidents were reported by residents early in the morning, around 8:00 AM and police responded.

According to Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson in the first incident, an unknown female adult, estimated to be between 20 and 25 years old, was found dead at the scene. She was reportedly attacked by unknown assailants, dragged to an unfinished building off the main road, and stabbed multiple times before being left for dead. The police have transported her body to the Mulago City Mortuary.

The second incident involved a 40-year-old woman named Namukwaya, who was also attacked in the same area of Bulenga Village, Sumbwe Parish in Wakiso Sub-county, Wakiso District. She was stabbed and left for dead, but survived and was rushed to Mulago Hospital, where she is receiving treatment. Police are hopeful that once she recovers, she will be able to provide a detailed account of the attack to aid in the investigation.

In another incident, police are investigating a fire outbreak in Namuwongo Zone B within the Kabalagala policing area.

The fire occurred after the local area LC 1 chairman’s house was set ablaze by residents who accused his son of involvement in a recent murder.

The police were able to rescue the chairman and extinguish the fire. Authorities condemned the act of mob justice and confirmed that investigations are ongoing.
