The outgoing British High Commissioner to Uganda, Her Excellency Kate Airey this afternoon met with Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, Chief of Defence Forces and Senior Presidential Advisor on Special Operations.

Accompanied by UK’s Defense Advisor to Uganda, HE Airey came to bid farewell to Gen Kainerugaba as her tour of duty in Uganda comes to an end. She has been in Kampala since 2020.

Gen Kainerugaba who received the UK diplomat at the Defense Intelligence and Security Headquarters in Mbuya expressed gratitude for Airey’s role in strengthening Uganda-UK bilateral relations and wished her success in her future endeavors.

This meeting follows their previous encounter in April where Airey congratulated Gen Kainerugaba on his appointment as CDF and presented a congratulatory letter from Admiral Sir Tony Radakin, British Chief of Defence Staff. During that meeting Gen Kainerugaba, an alumnus of the UK’s Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, reiterated his commitment to enhancing the warm relations between the UPDF and British Armed Forces.
