BOU Donates UGX 500M Facilities to Boost Maternal Health in Mitooma

The Deputy Speaker of Parliament Thomas Tayebwa, has applauded the Bank of Uganda (BoU) for its unwavering commitment to improving the health and livelihoods of Ugandans.

He made these remarks earlier today as the central bank officially handed over a fully equipped maternity block, a kitchen and washroom facilities, a solar power system, a water harvesting system, and essential medical equipment worth over UGX 500 million to Rwoburunga Health Centre III in Mitooma District.

This initiative by the Bank of Uganda is expected to significantly enhance maternal and child healthcare services in the district.

The donation includes advanced medical devices such as fetal monitors, baby incubators, delivery beds, and neonatal resuscitation equipment.

The Deputy Speaker attributed the Bank of Uganda’s contribution to its dedicated staff, whose efforts are focused on improving healthcare access and outcomes for mothers and their children in underserved communities.
