Bobi Wine Ousts Mpuuga and Installs Ssenyonyi as Leader of Opposition

Robert Kyagulanyi, the force behind the National Unity Platform, has ousted Mathias Mpuuga from his position as Leader of the Opposition (LoP) and named Joel Ssenyonyi as his successor.

Insiders have revealed that Mpuuga has been demoted to the modest position of parliament commissioner, following ongoing disagreements with Bobi Wine that have long indicated a change was imminent.

This shake-up comes at a critical juncture for the party as it grapples with the ramifications of its leader’s contentious remarks on homosexuality.

Sources within the party suggest that Bobi Wine sought a more agreeable LoP, favoring Ssenyonyi’s compliance over Mpuuga’s perceived lack of reverence for his leadership, as he often dismissed Bobi Wine’s views, regarding him as nothing more than an entertainer. It remains to be seen how these alterations will impact the party’s cohesion.
