Battlegroup Commanders’ Course Participants Urged To Utilise Knowledge For The Greater Good

Participants on the Battlegroup Commanders’ Course have been encouraged to apply their newfound knowledge to benefit the African continent and the wider world, particularly during peace support operations.

“As you depart from this course, remember that the knowledge and skills you have acquired here are not just for your personal enhancement but for the broader benefit of our region and the world. You are now better prepared to confront the diverse and formidable environments you will serve,” said Brig Gen Julius Bagonza.

Brig Gen Julius Bagonza, Director of Personnel and Administration – UPDF Air Force, made these remarks at the closing ceremony of the Battlegroup Commanders’ Course today, at the UN Regional Service Centre in Entebbe. He expressed his gratitude to the European Union-African Peace Support Architecture (EU-APSA) for their support of the course.

Brig Gen Getachew Ali Mohamed, of the Eastern African Standby Force, urged participants to act as ambassadors for the Eastern African Standby Force (EASF) and share their knowledge with their subordinates.

The 14-day course brought together participants from the Eastern Africa Standby Force, including representatives from Uganda, Kenya, Burundi, Rwanda, Comoros, Djibouti, Somalia, Ethiopia, and Sudan.
