Ankole Beauty Queen Pushes for Sustainable Tourism Practices

Ayebare Restytuta, a 22-year-old graduate of Business Administration from Rubirizi district, is making waves in the world of tourism in Uganda. As the reigning Queen of Miss Tourism Ankole and Miss Tourism Popularity Uganda, she is a passionate advocate for preserving the natural beauty of the country. During her reign she is going to work with Miss Tourism Uganda under the project “Let the Pearl Shine” Ankole Edition that will take place on 9th march 2024.
Under the theme “Keep it clean, keep it Green,” Queen RestyTutah is leading the charge for environmental conservation and community engagement in Ankole Alongside her fellow beauty queens with the support of Ambassador Queen Zakia for “Let the pearl shine”.They have organised a series of events and activities aimed at promoting sustainable tourism practices in Ankole region.
One of the key initiatives planned is a radio show at Rubirizi fm to raise awareness about the importance of preserving Uganda’s natural heritage. Additionally, Queen RestyTutah and her team will engage in online tourism advocacy discussions, highlighting the need for responsible tourism practices that benefit both visitors and the local communities.
As part of their hands-on approach, they will also be conducting general clean-up activities in the towns of Kyambura, Nyakashura, and Ndekye, promoting cleanliness and environmental stewardship. Furthermore, the team will reach out to less privileged children in the community, spreading joy and positivity through their interactions.
To foster a sense of community spirit and promote healthy lifestyles, Queen RestyTutah and her team have organised a friendly soccer game, bringing people together in a fun and engaging way. These activities are made possible through the generous support of organisations such as the Uganda Tourism Board (UTB), the National Forestry Authority (NFA), and Darling Hair Products, among others.
Through her dedication and the team, Miss Tourism Uganda is promoting responsible tourism and environmental conservation, Queen Ayebare Restytuta and her fellow beauty Queens are setting an example for others to follow. By encouraging citizens to keep their surroundings clean and green, she is helping to preserve Uganda’s natural beauty for future generations to enjoy. Her efforts are a shining example of the positive impact that individuals can have on their communities and the environment.
