Angry Mob Kills Suspected Thief After Coughing Betrays Hiding Spot in Tree

Police in Kampala are currently investigating a case of murder by mob, in Kasubi.

The incident happened on April 10th 2024.

According to reports, a group of alleged thugs infiltrated a resident’s home by scaling the wall fence and entering through the ceiling. Upon discovering the intruders, the homeowner raised an alarm, prompting the thugs to flee. Local residents responded to the alarm and began pursuing the perpetrators.

During the chase, one of the suspects sought refuge by climbing a tree to hide. However, the residents detected the sound of coughing emanating from the tree, ultimately revealing the suspect’s whereabouts.

The mob then proceeded to beat the individual unconscious before alerting the police.

Police officers who arrived at the scene rushed the suspect to Mulago Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The deceased, who did not possess any identification documents, was subsequently transferred to City Mortuary-Mulago for post-mortem examination.

Police have urged the public to refrain from taking the law into their own hands and instead report suspicious individuals to local authorities or the police.
