AFCON 2025 Qualifiers Groups Revealed: Road to Morocco Begins
The groups for the AFCON 2025 Qualifiers were drawn this Thursday, setting the stage for an exciting road to the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. A total of 48 teams will compete in the qualifying round, divided into 12 groups of four teams each.
The qualifiers will see only the top two teams from each group secure a ticket to the prestigious tournament, which will kick off in December 2025. As the host nation, Morocco has its spot guaranteed.
The matches are set to begin in September 2024, providing ample time for teams to prepare for the rigorous competition ahead.
The draw, held in Johannesburg, featured special guests Emerse Faé, the coach of the defending champions Ivory Coast, and Moroccan football legend Marouane Chamakh.
