Address the Mismatch between Curriculum and Job Market – Museveni
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has emphasized the need of prioritizing teaching of science courses as a solution to unemployment in Uganda.
This was contained in a message delivered on his behalf by the Prime Minister of Uganda Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja at the 5th graduation Ceremony for Valley University of Science and Technology in Bushenyi.
“The Problem of unemployment among the educated youth is largely because students are offering courses that are not marketable” President Museveni reiterated.
He said the demand for doctors, nurses, engineers, science teachers is very high compared to the number of graduates in such marketable careers.
He calls upon teaching institutions to address the mismatch between University curriculum and the job market as a solution to growing unemployment numbers.
A total of 857 students have been awarded with Diplomas, Bachelors and Postgraduate Diplomas. Valley University of Science and Technology Bushenyi is a private university.
