Denmark has once again extended financial aid towards the fight against COVID-19 in Uganda.
According to the Demark Embassy in Uganda, more than five Billion Uganda Shillings will go directly to the World Health Organization Uganda which will work with the Government of Uganda and the existing health structures to boost the ongoing efforts to curb COVID-19 second wave.
The PS Ministry of Health Dr. Diana Atwine urged European countries to help Uganda and Africa purchase vaccines other than giving financial aid.
Uganda is currently battling the second wave of Covid-19 which has claimed over 2000 people.
However, recently the new cases and deaths have significantly dropped after the country was put into a strict 42 days lockdown.
Results of COVID-19 tests done on 19 July 2021 confirmed 252 new cases bringing the cumulative confirmed cases to 91,162.
