The ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) has rolled out the roadmap for the race for Speaker of Parliament.
Speaking on Tuesday at his offices in Kampala, the NRM electoral commission chairman Dr Tanga Odoi said contenders for the position of Speaker and Deputy Speaker should express interest, starting Wednesday this week and up to Friday.
The names of interested contenders, Odoi added, will then be forwarded to the party’s top organ, the Central Executive Committee (CEC), for vetting on Saturday.
The selected candidates will then be forwarded by CEC to the NRM parliamentary caucus for endorsement on Sunday.
