Gen Kainerugaba Bounces Back as SFC Commander
President Yoweri Museveni who is also the Commander in Chief of the armed forces has reappointed Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba as the Special Forces Command boss.
Gen Kainerugaba will also retain his role as the Senior Presidential Advisor on Special Operations.
Gen Kainerugaba was in 2017 replaced by Maj Gen Don Nabasa who was recently replaced by Maj Gen James Birungi.
During his time as SFC commander, Gen Kainerugaba was hailed for spearheading a number of projects aimed at the welfare of his soldiers.
Earlier, veteran journalist Andrew Mwenda broke the news, stating that Okoth Ochola had been re-appointed as IGP while correctly stating that Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has been appointed SFC Commander.
In other changes, Gen Paul Lokech has been appointed Deputy IGP while Maj Gen James Birungi has been moved to replace Lokech who has been in South Sudan as a special envoy.
Maj Gen Sabiiti has reportedly been called back to the General Headquarters for redeployment.
