Kabaka Mutebi meets Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta

The Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Mutebi on Friday morning met with Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta.

According to an afternoon tweet by Kenya’s State House, the two leaders discussed a number of development activities, including regional cultural integration.

“President Uhuru Kenyatta today at State House, Nairobi held talks with the Kabaka of the Buganda Kingdom, Ronald Edward Frederick Kimera Muwenda Mutebi II who paid him a visit,” reads the tweet.

“The Head of State and the visiting cultural leader discussed subjects of mutual interest among them the central role of culture in regional integration and peaceful communal co-existence.”

The development comes as reports have been making rounds that the king was bed-ridden. Buganda premier Peter Mayiga later rubbished the reports, saying the Kabaka was not hospitalized.
