Prayer to Defeat CoronaVirus in Uganda
“Go, my people, enter your rooms and shut your doors behind you. Hide yourselves a little while until the wrath has passed” Isaiah 26:20.
God our Father through Jesus Christ our Lord you traveled through towns and villages curing every disease and illness. At your command, the sick were made well. Come to our aid now, in the midst of this globally spread coronavirus; may we experience your healing love. Heal those who are sick with this terrible pandemic and educate those who are in denial. May all humanity regain courage, strength, and health through all good advice and quality medical care. God console those who have already lost their dear ones.
Heal us from the prevailing pride which prevents us from working together to prevent this human catastrophe. Awaken us from the slumber of selfishness especially those who are still in good health to know that Coranavirus has come to kill, steal and destroy our nation. Fill us with the spirit of responsibility to take care of each other more especially during these challenging times. Heal us from pride which makes us claim invulnerability to a disease that knows no borders.
God, come to our aid now, that we may experience your healing power. God, the healer of all, stay by our side in this time of uncertainty, confusion, fear, and sorrow.
As we worry and grieve, defend us from despair. May we experience your peace. Be with the doctors, nurses, researchers and all medical professionals who seek to heal and help those affected and who put themselves at risk in the process. May they know your protection and peace. Be with the leaders of all nations. Give them the foresight to act with charity and true concern for the well-being of the people they are meant to serve. Give them the wisdom to be patient when those they rule act and behave stubbornly. May our leaders invest in long-term solutions that will help in stopping every life-threatening eventuality. May all citizens know your peace, as they work together to achieve true life on earth.
Whether we are home or faraway surrounded by many people suffering from this illness or affected by it, God, stay with us as we endure and persist to overcome it. In place of our anxiety, give us your peace. Amen.
