Ms Henrietta Nairuba Wamala, an NRM leaning candidate has won the hotly contested elections for the Presidency of the Uganda North America Association (UNAA).
Henrietta Wamala beat 3 other candidates including Eng. John Julius Muwulya who is affiliated to the People Power outfit.
The other candidates were Frank Musisi and Patrick Ogwang.
Over 1200 members registered to take part in the Sunday. To many observers, the high degree of enthusiasm from the members of the Diaspora organization was both a rarity and unparalleled.
Although all the four candidates had served UNAA in various capacities at one time or another, pedigree did not count for much. Observers note that messaging, personality, integrity, perceived decency and honesty, and other soft skills were the yardsticks on which candidates were judged, in the end separating the winners from losers thus Wamala’s victory.
