The Uganda Police Force has confirmed the identity of the suspect involved in Thursday’s fatal attack at the Ggaba Early Childhood Development Program. The police reveal that the suspect attacked the young children at 11:00am on Thursday.
According to Kituuma Rusoke, the Uganda Police Spokesman, the suspect, 39-year-old Okello Christopher Onyum, was arrested at the scene following reports of children being attacked. Four minors lost their lives in the incident:
Eteku Gideon, male, aged 2 years
Kaise Alungat, female, aged 2 years
Ignatius Sserwange, male, aged 3 years
Ryan Odeke, male, aged 2 years
Kituuma says all victims were pupils of the same daycare center. He added that the suspect is under interrogation and that investigations are ongoing to determine motive and any other relevant circumstances.
