Uganda Revenue Authority in partnership with Uganda Manufacturers Association(UMA) have started regional tax clinics today with Eastern Uganda as the first priority in Jinja and Mbale. The regional Clinics are designed to equip manufactuers, entrepreneurs business stakeholders with practical knowledge needed to navigate tax obligations with confidence.
The participants in the regional tax clinics will engage directly with Uganda Revenue Authority tax experts in an interactive setting that priotize clarity and actionable insight to simplify tax processes and obligations.
The customs session will address import duty and export levy structures, valuation methods and accurate calculation of landed costs, key thoughts such as duty remission schemes will be explored alongside procedures for obtaining certificate of origin to access preferential trade arrangements including EAC and AfCTA.
“These regional tax clinics reflect URA’ s commitment to fostering a compliant, competitive and well informed private sector, we invite business leaders to attend, engage with our experts and take advantage of the opportunity to strengthen their tax literacy and operational effeciency, the statement said.

The UMA- URA regional tax clinics are designed to empower business, manufacturers and other stakeholders with the latest tax knowledge and compliance strategies. Uganda Revenue Authority conducts these extensive stakeholders engagements to improve tax compliance, foster voluntary disclosure and harmonize relationships with taxpayers.
The key key activities include nationwide taxpayer education, high level dialogues with business leaders, sector specific sensitization meetings and collaboration with government agencies to enhance revenue mobilization and policy implementation.
