Police in Wandegeya have arrested two suspects who were allegedly found wandering at night while armed with dangerous weapons.
The suspects have been identified as Omirambe Nizara (18) and Ochom Daniel (23), both residents of Kawempe Division.
According to Luke Owoyesigyire, the arrest happened in the early hours of March 18, 2026 at about 12:23am during a routine patrol by officers from Uganda Police Force attached to Kikoni B Police Station.
Police say officers encountered a group of about six youths near Nyumbani Hotel who fled upon seeing the patrol team. Two of them were apprehended.
During a search, one of the suspects, Omirambe Nizara, was reportedly found in possession of a panga and a knife concealed on his person.
The suspects are currently detained at Wandegeya Police Division, while the case file has been prepared and is awaiting submission to the Resident State Attorney for legal advice.
Police say investigations into the matter are ongoing.
